Lisa’s notes: We really like these riding boots from Harry Hall; they are well made and represent great value for money. We are often asked for boots for juniors but struggle to find ones that are not out of reach for most people’s pockets and yet satisfy the requirements of the children who wear them!

They all want the look of the adult boots out there with all the same features but understandably parents are concerned about growing feet. The clever combination of real leather with a panel of synthetic leather on the calf help to keep the cost of these down to a reasonable price as well as being slightly more hardwearing.

We have also found that the length appears to suit most legs which had been an issue with some brands who have tried to produce a junior boot but made them too long.

These come in a standard leg length and thus the height they sit can vary slightly depending on the rider’s actual lower leg length. Long riding boots will generally “drop” a little over time so please bear that in mind when first fitting them.

We advise that when your child first tries them on, ask them to bend their leg as if they are sitting in a saddle. If when they try the boot on it feels like it cuts in to the back of the knee a little then we advise putting a heel raiser in the boot. This helps to lift the rider’s foot up at the rear until the leather has dropped and softened a little and thus the actual boot sits slightly lower. You can then remove them. This gives the optimum fit and look you were aiming for and is why the expensive riding boots often come with heel raisers as part of the package!

I hope the above helps but please feel free to contact us if you need further help!
