Lisa’s notes: This is a lovely gilet for the money. The star pattern quilting is subtle but attractive and the whole theme works well with the metallic silver zips. They are designed to give more warmth than the average body warmer and as a result it has a shiny silver mesh lining. The idea being that the silver combined with the padding will help keep in the heat generated by the body whilst the small perforations let out any moisture to keep the wearer dry and comfortable.
I have to say I was a little sceptical because on first sight this body warmer does not appear to be over heavy or padded in weight compared to the down gilets you get but on wearing it, I did feel that there must be some merit in what they say because despite all that it did feel warm!
The advantage with this body warmer is that the price is considerably lower than the down-filled equivalents and to wear it is less bulky and more streamlined for those who want a more tailored, fuss-free look. However, they do come up very small!
I’m a UK 12 in dresses and tops; with I would say a standard sized bust (C cup) and I would normally float between a medium / large in jackets or jumpers. However, I needed to go up to an XL in these as I could only just squeeze in to a Large. The large was fine on the waist but very small across the chest leaving me feeling very restricted.
I tend to also wear a tee and sweater under a gilet so it may be that if you have a smaller sized chest (A, B cup), and only wear one layer then you will get away with the normal size. The size chart I have given is based on what I feel these accurately fit but if you are unsure then please do contact us!
