Lisa’s notes: These smart breeches are great for competitions or every day. Full seat breeches are the traditional choice for dressage and event riders for their practicality & comfort. The fabric has a nice sheen and helps prevent dirt & hair from sticking to it. The high-rise style means the breeches sit on the natural waist line, about 10” from the crotch. This is ideal for those who are longer in the body & find low rise breeches uncomfortable. However, due to the high waist, these are tailored far more through the thigh area and as a result have a straighter cut & come up much smaller than other breeches in the range. I normally take a UK 26” waist but although I am 5ft 6”, I found I had to go up to a UK 30” to get these to fit.
In general, Caldene do tend to come up smaller than other breeches with the exception of their woven breeches such as the Carter. I think unless you are quite tiny in build with no tummy, you definitely want to look at going up one size & if curvy then probably up two sizes.
