This product is designed for use during riding, and therefore it is entirely at the owner's discretion whether it is used for grazing, and if so it is advised that the horse in question be fully supervised. This is particularly important in cases where an extreme reaction to sunlight would be detrimental to the horse's health. The reason for this is that, as with anything worn unsupervised, it may be inadvertently removed by the horse, or in rare circumstances, could become stuck on a fence or such like.
The eVysor horse mask is recommended for horses with a variety of problems and can be used for the following:
- Eye protection from the sun
- Eye protection from the sand and wind
- Post Eye Surgery
- Eye Injury
- Uveitis
- Cataracts
- Photo sensitivity
- Glaucoma
- Eye Scratching
- Head-shaking
- Fly Protection
We suggest that you consult your vet if your horse suffers from any medical condition prior to use.
Available in one size only
Available in Transparent, Mirrored Orange, Mirrored Blue, Dark Grey
Lisa’s notes: This brand new product is fully patented and offers your horse the ultimate in eye protection. They are basically like an over-sized wraparound pair of sunglasses for your horse and may offer a solution to any horse that suffers from any of the conditions mentioned above. It is important to state that if your horse does have a suspected problem that you should always consult your vet in the first instance. Being married to an equine vet, I am fully aware that it is really important that uveitis and other such conditions are treated correctly in the first place and these visors are not designed as a substitute to veterinary treatment but to work alongside your vet’s medical advice and to help prevent any future problems if your horse is prone to reoccurring issues or is bothered by flies and midges.
They are primarily meant for riding though I have been asked if they can be worn when in the paddock. If you decide to let them graze in them then we strongly recommend that they are not left unattended in case they get removed accidentally or get caught on a fence. This is particularly important if your horse cannot have exposure to any sunlight.
When first applying them allow your horse plenty of time to adjust to having them on their head and that they are correctly fitted so there is no chance of them slipping. Although early days, horses do seem very accepting of them and the fact that they are so flexible means you can get a really good fit. Already, there are videos pinging up showing how they are helping horses with various conditions. If you wish to use them in competition then check with the respected disciplines governing body to see if they are permitted.
They also come in a handy zipped case for easy storage and protecting the lenses!
