These Euro-Star La Xantippe breeches are from the Easy Rider collection and are specially designed for those colder months.

They are made from a softshell fabric with a soft brushed inner to keep you feeling warm and comfortable. They have a full grip silicon seat to give extra stability in the saddle and Lycra leg closure to ensure a tight fit under your boots with no bulk.

They are nicely finished with jean style pockets on the front edged in contrast detailing and further rear pockets to create a smart, workmanlike breech.

Lisa’s notes: If the thought of the colder weather already sends you in to shivers then what you need is a pair of winter weight softshell breeches! They are made from a double layer fabric which means that the outer fabric helps to repel dirt, stave off the cold winds and help protect against showers.

They are not waterproof so if you are going out in a monsoon then we still advise you wear waterproof trousers but they do the job in normal winter weather.

The warm underside of the fabric means you stay cosy when the temperature gauge drops and for those who have had any of these previously then there is no need to preach to the converted! For I guarantee once you own a pair, you will never tackle winter again in a standard weight breech.

They still have all the bells and whistles of traditional breeches such as silicon full grip seat, flex leg closure and stretch fabric for freedom of movement but are just warmer!

These particular ones are well priced and more affordable as they are from the Easy Rider collection but don’t worry if you feel they might be of an inferior quality as a result; they are definitely not.

For those concerned that it’s not worth the outlay for a winter breech, it is worth bearing in mind that for some of our customers (based in certain parts of the UK and the world) they could be spending at least six months in them. They are also styled in a classic way which means you can drag them out of the wardrobe each year without fear they will be out of fashion!

They are as easy to wash as standard weight breeches and for those who cannot be bothered to read the washing instructions we have given a heads up below.

Just turn them inside out, pop them in your machine and add a capful of wool or silk wash. It is only a capful! It doesn’t need to be a branded product; any generic supermarket silk or wool wash will work! This will help to give your breeches an almost invisible protective coating. Then put them on to a 30° quick wash or hand wash.

Once washed hang them up to dry, not on a direct heat source and certainly not in the tumble dryer as it will wreck your seat and bash off any bling! Mine are usually dry within 24 hours, less time if the weather is warmer.

If you cannot be bothered to buy the silk or wool wash then definitely use a product which is non-bio as I have found that biological liquids tend to fade or bleach the colours. Though it’s worth noting even customers who have used non-bio liquid have found the colour has faded hence the silk and wool wash.
